All About Reeder!

Reeder Elementary school opened its doors to students in 2005. Named for Gretchen Reeder, our neighborhood school offers a comprehensive program kindergarten through fifth grade. The students chose our mascot, "Rudy the Roadrunner" and our colors are purple and green. Gretchen Reeder, for whom the school is named, devoted her life to helping others. Her community service projects benefited children and adults from all areas of Omaha. Gretchen was a member of the Millard school board and started the business partnership program known as PAYBAC which links Millard with over 300 local businesses.

Reeder academic learning areas are located in two stories with the music room, cafeteria, multi-purpose room, gymnasium, and full-service kitchen located on the main level. Each floor contains specialized rooms for large group science and art activities. The lower level contains the media resource center. Technology is available there and in every classroom as well!

Reeder prides itself on parent partnerships and successful events throughout the year which bring students, staff, and families together outside of the school day. Our students are highly engaged and consistently perform above average on district and state assessments.

The Mission of Gretchen Reeder Elementary School is to guarantee that each student masters the academic and life skills necessary for personal excellence through exemplary instruction in a safe, welcoming, student-centered environment empowering all students to become responsible citizens and life-long learners.
